When released as a Private Stock "Guitar of the Month" a few years ago, the McCarty 594 created a lot of buzz. As so many PRS Enthusiasts saw this axe as the ultimate guitar, the company decided to add it to their Core range, alongside legends like the Custom 24 and the Custom 22.
Effortlessly playable, with vintage tones and a modern sensibility, the McCarty 594 is seen by many as Ted McCarty's ultimate guitar design.

Just like many of the world's most popular guitars, the McCarty 594 is crafted using a combination of Solid Mahogany topped with a Flame Maple cap.
This results in the guitar producing a naturally warm and mellow tone, with a fast attack, bright overtone, and bags of sustain - all of the key ingredients required for that vintage tone.
In addition to sounding great, Flamed Maple gorgeous aesthetic qualities too. Due to the nature of the Flamed Maple's wood grain, the limited edition "Burnt Maple" finish of Red and Grey looks simply incredible.

Unique to the McCarty models, the Pattern Vintage neck is designed to offer a more comfortable playing experience than the traditional PRS Pattern Regular.
The asymmetrical neck carve on this particular profile offers a slightly thicker bass side and slightly thinner treble side. This allows you to play comfortably with your hand naturally in the correct position, reducing stress on your fingers and wrist.
This neck is topped with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with those famous PRS Bird fret markers.
Additionally, the McCarty 594 takes the last part of its name from the guitar's scale length: 24.594". This shorter scale makes for less string tension and a more comfortable playing experience, while ensuring that the guitar's intonation is pin-point accurate accross the whole of the neck.

Fully complimenting one another at each end of the guitar you have a PRS Two-Piece bridge and a set of Tweaked Phase III Locking tuners.
These tuners have been adjusted to promote tone transfer from the string directly into the guitar, with the minimal amount of energy lost. In addition to this, they work perfectly with the fixed Two-Piece bridge to provide you with a superior level of tuning stability.

- Controls: Two Volume, Two Push/Pull Tone, 3-way Toggle Switch
Similar to the traditional 58/15 humbucker, but with a slightly lower output, the 58/15 LT's on this McCarty 594 produce a warm, clear, vintage-sounding tone. If traditional PAF-like humbuckers are your forté, then these are the pickups for you.
Each pickup has an independent Volume and Tone control, and can be "Coil Split" into Single Coil mode at a pull of the appropriate Tone knob, giving you access to a whole new range of sounds.
