With its roots set into a firm foundation of PRS style and vintage guitar playability, the PRS McCarty 594 is being described by many as the finest guitar the company has ever made.

The solid and relatively lightweight mahogany used in the construction of this guitar is a luthier's dream.
Mahogany helps to give the guitar it's naturally warm voice, resonating at the perfect frequency for all of your harmonic needs.
In addition to this, the body is capped with a beautiful carved Flame Maple top, edged with plain Maple to add the finishing touches.
Due to the nature of the Flame Maple's wood grain, the Autumn Sky coating of paint offers that truly incredible "striped" finish that PRS are renowned for.

This model gets it's name as a combination of two things: the first (McCarty) is an homage from Paul Reed Smith to his friend and mentor Ted McCarty.
The second is the number 594, which simply refers to the unique scale length of this guitar - 24.594".
In addition to this, the unique Pattern Vintage style neck shares it's measurements with the PRS Pattern neck, but is constructed in a slightly asymmetrical manner - slightly thinner on the treble side, but slightly thicker on the bass side!
This comfortable-to-play, 22-fret neck feels as though you've been playing it forever, and is topped with an Ebony fretboard and adorned with the PRS Bird inlays.

Renowned for their reliability and longevity, PRS guitars owe a lot of that to the in-house designed hardware.
To begin with, the Tweaked Phase III Locking Tuners that PRS have used in this guitar's construction work perfectly with the Two-Piece Stoptail bridge.
A single added set screw on the tuners pulls the tuner's gear and worm together to prevent slipping, helping promote tone transfer from the string straight into the guitar with as little energy loss as possible.
When combined with the Two-Piece Stoptail Bridge, the McCarty 594 remains completely in tune with a neck that remains intonated through it's entire length, making for a perfectly pleasant playing experience in any situation.

The "LT" suffix of the 58/15 pickups on this guitar means "Low Turn", which essentially help to give the McCarty 594 a warm, yet clear tone.
In addition to this, the coil tapping options housed within each tone control allows you to choose whether each pickup is set for rich, authentic, vintage Humbucking tones or nuanced, sweet Single Coil sounds.
Finally, with the selector switch and highly accurate control knobs, you get a near endless array of tones to tweak when looking for those sweet spots.
