A true British original, Orange amps founded back in the 60's by Cliff Cooper and garnered succes with high profile muscians buying the amps. Things went a bit quiet in the 80's before the company came back in the early 90's and has gone from strength to strength since.
Valve amps have had a major renaissance in recent years so Orange has re-introduced a few of it's original models, as well as inventing the all new AD30. Something of a modern classic, it delivers a sweet clean and crunchy drive tone that beggars belief, while embodying the character of Orange amps.
For those of us with smaller bank balances Orange were one of the first companies to offer compact valve amps, introducing the Tiny Terror to massive critical acclaim and boasting over 30,000 owners! There's since been a few more additions to the stable, offering Dual power and Dark voicing for alternative/metal tones.
Giving the world the AD range, compact Terrors and tiny Micro amps now Orange are on a quest to deliver the ultimate in solid state amps. Always seen as something of a poor relation to their valve cousins but lighter and easier to maintain. The new Crush range changes all that, awesome sounding while remaining light and affordable. Orange continue to lead the UK tone invasion after all these years.
