Orange Thunderverb 200, 200 Watt Guitar Head (Black Variant)
Orange valve amplifiers are up there with the very best. Just like Fender amps, Vox amps and Laney amps, Orange are world renowned for having a unique sound favoured by many guitars. Whether your sound of choice is clean, warm, dirty, or downright filthy, the Thunderverb 200 can deliver it, with BOTH available channels capable of a vast array of clean and dirty settings - from bright and sparkly through to full on metal filth.
Supreme articulation, colossal headroom & unmatched power levels
Featuring a quartet of 6550 valves and the same kind of transformers found in Orange's powerhouse AD200B bass amp head, the Thunderverb 200 is capable of outputting up to 200 watts of raw power, even with lower register guitar tunings. Works perfectly when paired up with the Orange PPC412 speaker cab or similar, and if the raw power of the amp is getting a little too much you can always alter the power output to 100 Watts at the flick of a switch!
Reverb, FX Loop & Channel Selection
With valve driven reverb, valve FX loop and foot switchable attenuator, the Orange TV200H Thunderverb tube amp head sports two clean / crunch lead guitar channels, both with three stages of gain. Channel A features the same three band EQ as the Rockerverb amp series, while Channel B has a Shape control that scoops out the mids, boosting the bass and treble. This make sthe Thunderverb all valve amp suitable for anything from blues to hard rock and metal.
Nothing compares to the gut wrenching bottom end punch of this amp head, empowered by a three inch Dual Snare 8 transformer. A fast and tight bottom end, and sweet and musical mids and upper ranges are sustained at any volume, while the Extended Tonal Range of the Thunderverb 200 makes it suitable to use as a bass head too!
The awesome Attenuator circuit helps determine exactly when and (more importantly) how the amp distorts after the preamp stage: this means that the overall volume level can be reduced without a reduction in the amp's output clipping characteristics! The technology put into this circuit helps ensure that even at very low volumes the amp remains springy and responsive, and the attentuator itself can be activated via a footswitch to give either channel a volume boost during solos.
