Orange Dual Dark 50, Guitar Amp Head
What would a world with no light sound like? Your search is over.. Get even darker with the Orange Dual Dark 50 guitar amplifier head, a showcase of Orange's very best amp engineering to create the ultimate in British guitar tone.
You'll need to switch a light on just to make it dark again!
With the Orange Dual Dark 50 you get four stages of gain spread across two channels, giving you plenty of aggression whilst remaining flexible. Channel A features a voicing like no other Orange amp range, unique yet still staying true to its Orange heritage. Channel B has all the tones of the classic Dark Terror. With both channels offering clean tones, through to dirty crunch distortion, you will find new dimensions of sound with the combination of different tones on offer in the amp head. No other amp in the history of Orange has offered so much gain before, so take control of your sound now and enter the realm of the Dual Dark!
Two Master Volume Channels, with Four Stages of High Gain!
Produces a sonic array that starts at the sparkling end of clean, trudges through the gravelly ranges of overdrive, and plunges headfirst into the filthy swamp of distortion.... with both channels! Each channel gives you all the flexibility you could wish for.
Footswitchable Global Attenuator
The awesome Attenuator circuit helps determine exactly when and (more importantly) how the amp distorts after the preamp stage: this means that the overall volume level can be reduced without a reduction in the amp's output clipping characteristics! The technology put into this circuit helps ensure that even at very low volumes the amp remains springy and responsive, and the attentuator itself can be activated via a footswitch to give either channel a volume boost during solos.
Switchable Output Power
Want more control over the headroom and output valve breakup? Then simply switch the output power of the head. Changing the output power from 50watts to 25watts gives you greater output valve clipping and saturation at lower volume levels without losing any tonal clarity!
Sturdy Construction - Made to be Played
As with all Orange amps, the Dual Dark 50 is sturdily constructed to survive life on the road. Featuring 8 section output transformers, as well as chassis-mounted switchgear secured to a welded steel enclosure and housed in a sturdy 18mm plywood cabinet, this amp head is built for repeated live use.
Valve Buffered FX Loop
No Orange amp head would be complete without the highly transparent effects loop option for pedal-purists. This particular circuit is buffered by a single 12AT7/ECC81 valve, ensuring that the signal from end to end is fully valve-driven and kept as true to the amp sound as possible.
