Tulipwood Tone
The shells of this Natal Café Racer kit are constructed from 7 plies of Tulipwood to deliver a distinctive modern sound.
Taking inspiration from the tulipwood kits of the 50s and 60s, Natal have combined an old school wood choice with modern production techniques to deliver an up to date kit that offers a refreshing alternative to the standard birch and maple drums on offer.
Characterised by its warm tone and piercing projection, tulipwood provides versatile sound capable of cutting through the noise on stage as well as providing the depth of tone needed in the studio.
Producing a controlled yet powerful tone with a short sustain, this kit offers a quick, punchy compact sound to deliver upfront impact.
Each of the shells are finished with slightly rounded, hand finished, 45 degree bearing edges to further aid the projection and immediacy of the kit sound.
All Chrome Hardware
All of the drums in this Natal shell pack are adorned with Natal’s signature, UK designed, chrome plated sun lugs to deliver an instantly recognisable aesthetic.
Each of the toms are framed with 2.3mm triple flanged hoops and the rack toms are fitted with the Natal Resonance Mount bracket (NRM) to deliver super stable tom positioning.
Knowing that contact between the metal mount and the drum shell detrimentally affects the tom sustain, Natal have designed their resonance mount to attach to the rack tom via two lugs.
Minimising the contact between the drum shell and the metal mount prevents negative interference and promotes the natural resonance of the tom to ensure you always achieve optimum tom sustain.
The Natal Café Racer comes complete with a specialist aluminium ball tom mount system to provide extra stability and reliable durability to help you achieve your ideal rack tom placement.
The 22” bass drum is fitted with sturdy telescopic bass drum spurs to offer solid hold for your bass drum to prevent the dreaded kick drum creep.
All of the drums in this Natal Café Racer kit are fitted with tru-tune tension rods which are designed to offer easier, more reliable and longer lasting tuning to ensure you have a consistent kit sound from your first touch to your last hit.
