Premium Construction
For this Luke III (or L3) model, Music Man have addressed Lukather's needs as a touring guitarist, and included performance-enhancing extras such as an on-board 12db adjustable boost, a Roasted Maple neck, and a gorgeous Olive Pearl finish.
The overall result is a guitar that is not only superior in both tone and versatility to most other guitars in its class, but one which looks the part too.
Custom Wound Pickups
The Luke 3 HSS features a trio of Music Man Custom Wound pickups - two pristine single coils sitting in the Neck and Middle positions, and a Humbucker sitting at the bridge - all of which are voiced to work perfectly with this guitar.
Each of the single coil pickups produces the kind of sparkly, vintage single coil sound that you'd expect, with the humbucker offering an array of hot-sounding PAF-like tones.
In addition to these pickups, the Volume control pot comes equipped with a Push/Push Gain Boost function, giving you extra headroom when you need it.
Unbeatable Hardware
Bringing all of this together and helping it function as only a Music Man Luke guitar can is an array of high-quality, rock-solid hardware, including a set of locking tuners and a vintage-style floating tremolo.
The Schaller locking tuners, for example, not only offer superb levels of tuning stability, but they also allow for fast and easy string changes when needed too.
In addition to this, the Floating Vintage Tremolo bridge allows you to add subtle-to-outrageous pitch bends to your playing, and sports adjustable saddles for pin-point intonation.
