Raw, aggressive analogue sound design
The fundamental grit and warmth of the Sub Phatty is powered by Moog MultiDrive circuitry. Once you really start to push the amplifier section, Multidrive kicks in and adds more distortion and aggression than classic Moog synths, with that extra high-mid bite when you need it. Add it to the Sub oscillator and those sweepable waves and you have three factors that already give this synth some extra sonic character.
Sub Phatty features a responsive 25-key, 2-octave keybed that makes bass and leads a joy to play and record via MIDI or USB with your DAW.
Easy Signal Flow
Normally, analogue synths take a while to warm up into their 'sweet spot', but Sub Phatty sounds great as soon as you fire it up and start tweaking.
The sonic engine includes a a sub oscillator that outputs a square wave one octave below Oscillator 1. Use this powerful tool as a third oscillator for added depth, or to craft your own customized incarnation of monstrous Moog sub bass. A noise generator is also voiced to deliver low-frequency sound, rich with body and punch.
The Sub Phatty features a very user intuitive interface and mixer section, designed to make quick sound creation as easy as possible. Centered around a large Filter Cutoff dial, the Sub Phatty is wonderfully easy to programme and tweak. Whether you're crafting sounds for the studio or tweaking in live performance, Sub Phatty offers full control.
Fitted with 25 full-size synth action keys, 16 presets with panel mode, and a 31 knob front panel, Moog’s classic control design plugs you straight into the analog heart of this powerful new instrument.
