Crafting the Equinox
The Equinox snare drum is made with a Maple 6mm 6-ply shell and features 4-ply 4mm Maple reinforcement rings.
Thanks to its harder all-Maple shell and edge reinforcement rings, the frequency response in the 1-3 kHz is raised, giving you a clear and bright tone that’ll cut right through guitars, larger ensembles and horn bands.
All the articulation you need for subtle ghost notes is there but when you want to open it up by playing at full volume you get a nice and bright tone with wide presence.
Modern Precision and Reliability
Being a Design Lab snare drum, the Black Panther Equinox features Puresound Custom Series 16-strand wires.
These wires are medium-gauged evenly spaced standard coils with copper end-plates so you get the perfect balance between the snare response and natural shell sound.
Furthermore; the cylinder-drive strainer and butt-end adjuster utilise a self-lubricating bearing, providing you with incredibly smooth operation.
“Micro-Lock” technology is employed by the adjustment dial, giving you precise control while preventing the snare wires from loosening during play.
Great Pitch and Effortless Tuning
Ensuring top quality response and sound, Mapex have equipped the Equinox snare drum with a Remo Fibreskyn 3 Diplomat batter and Remo Clear Ambassador resonant head.
Enhancing the fundamental pitch while allowing the drumheads to sit flat and offer effortless tuning, the Equinox snare drum is fitted with the SONIClear Bearing Edge.
