Back in 1964 a young drummer appeared playing in a band called the Beatles. That young drummer was Ringo Starr, and he was playing a Ludwig Drum Kit. He influenced a lot of drummers in the 60's into buying their own Ludwig kit, to get that Beatles sound.
Later on, Ginger Baker and John Bonham joined the list of influential drummers that secured Ludwig's place internationally in the drumming world.
Compact and Punchy
This USA hand-made Ludwig Classic Maple Downbeat Shell pack comes with 20" x 14" Bass Drum, 14" x 14" Floor tom and 12" x 8" Tom. With it's slight compact jazz sizes this kit will still pack a punch and is perfect for any performing situation.
Finished in a retro Red Sparkle, this kit will turn heads wherever it is, on stage, in the studio or at home.
Hand-Crafted North American Maple Shells
These hand-built shells are constructed with a cross layering technique which toughens each shell and produces an flawless performance out of each drum shell.
Using 6mm 7-ply North American maple, perfect for a huge range of playing styles and performing situations, these Ludwig maple shells deliver a high sensitivity, with a large dynamic tuning scope and sharp attack.
RFST Moulding for full stability
The shells on the Classic Maple kit are constructed using Radio Frequency Shell Technology which maximises stability for each drum. The RFST's exclusive bonding system is combined with a specialised, time-tested adhesive to cure each shell evenly over the entire surface of the shell.
Cut-with-precision Bearing Edge
To get a flatter more even surface, each of the shell's bearing edges are cut to a 45-degree angle within 1/16" from the outer edge then hand-sanded down.
This makes the seating of the drum heads much simpler, transitioning a balanced sound through the shells, helping produce that traditional Ludwig sound.
