Back in 1927, Emerald Pearl was one of the first lineup of drum wraps that Ludwig offered. However, by 1929 it had been discontinued.
With very few drums ever being graced by this gorgeous finish, it has become a "Holy Grail" for Ludwig collectors and drum fanatics.

Vintage Style Emerald Pearl Finish
A characteristic of older cellulose wraps, such as the Emerald Pearl, is that they begin to show signs of ageing and start yellowing.
This aged appearance is extremely popular and so Ludwig have taken steps to give this recreation of the original wrap an authentic "vintage" appearance.
This great look and vintage-classic theme continues with the brass plated hardware.
7-Ply Cross-Laminated North American Maple
Professional drummers often choose Classic Maple drums because of their versatility making them the ideal choice for a wide variety of genres and playing styles.
These shells are highly sensitive and boast a wide dynamic tuning range so you get great sound even at low tunings. Furthermore, there sharp attack gives your performance a beautifully cutting immediacy.
Each of the shells have a bearing edge cut to a 45-degree angle that is within 1/16" from the outside edge of the drum.
The edge is then hand-sanded to ensure a smooth, flat surface that allows for easy head seating.
Combined, these features give you the incredible Ludwig Sound that has made Ludwig drums so popular for over 110 years!
