Overview

Ibanez TS9 Gold - TS9 Tube Screamer Pedal, with a Gorgeous Limited Edition Gold Finish

In 1982 there were two major events that helped change the shape of popular music forever.

Firstly, Michael Jackson releases the groundbreaking Thriller album, cementing himself as the King of Pop. Secondly, Ibanez introduced the world to the legendary TS9 Tube Screamer pedal!

The World's Most Popular Overdrive Blinged Up

The original Ibanez TS9 was released as a follow up to the popular TS808, but featured a much brighter sound. It was this sound that caught the ears of the music world, and soon enough was being used by the worlds top string-slingers.

Now, for a limited time only, Ibanez Japan have released a very special TS9 Gold, because why not? This fantastic pedal features the same phenomenal circuit as the latest TS9 incarnation, but housed in a gorgeous Gold enclosure.

But What Does it Do?

Quite simply, the Ibanez TS9 Gold Tube Screamer recreates the same kind of guitar tone that you'd get from an overdriven valve amplifier.

When the valves/tubes in an older amp would get hot, the guitar sound would approach "breakup". Because this breakup wasn't quite reaching distorted levels, whilst still giving you more than a clean tone, it became favoured by Rock and blues musicians.

That's what the Ibanez TS9 Gold Tube Screamer does for you.

World's Most Popular Overdrive

Described by many as the best overdrive circuit available, the original was so popular that it helped shape what we think of as the standard Lead Guitar sound. Simply plug it in, adjust your controls accordingly, and get riffing - you'll see exactly why.

Intuitive Controls

Part of the reason the TS9 became so popular in the first place was its easy-to-use control layout.

  • Drive - sets the amount of Gain/Saturation you want in your signal
  • Tone - helps shape the overall EQ curve, boosting your bass, mids, or treble depending on settings
  • Level - simply controls just how high an output you want from the pedal

In addition to these controls, there's the On/Off toggle switch, and that's it. Dialing in your perfect tone couldn't be easier.

Doubling Up

So, you like the tone that a TS9 can give you, but think it doesn't quite have enough in the way of "dirt"? No problem: simply have two TS9's side by side in your pedal chain, and one can drive the other into even more saturation.

This particular doubling up technique has seen a rise in popularity amongst modern hard rock and metal acts.

Limited Run Model

As stated above, the fantastic Ibanez TS9 Gold was made for the Japanese market, and is available to the European market for a limited time only. If you have any queries regarding the availability of this pedal, then please contact us directly.
