Originally designed more than three decades ago to offer bassists a modern alternative, the Ibanez SR lineup has consistently evolved with the time, and continues to excite players to this day.
Featuring a smooth, fast neck, lightweight body, and fantastic electronics, the Ibanez SR305E is a relatively new addition to the family, and it's one that helps to keep the SR legacy alive in style.
Effortless Playability
While many bassists eschew playing a 5-string because they're often heavy or tend to have thicker necks than their 4-string counterparts, the Ibanez SR305E seems to take those stereotypes to the cleaners.
Thanks to the lightweight and ergonomically-carved Nyatoh body, you can while away those long hours of practising at home or in the rehearsal room with ease. In addition to this, the neck on the SR305E is designed for high-performance playing, and lets you effortlessly reach every note across all 5 strings.
Powerspan Pickups
A recent addition to the Ibanez SR bass lineup, these PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups are about as versatile as a bass pickup can get. Not only are they complimented by a powerful 3-band EQ, with Volume and Balance controls (which adds plenty of versatility in itself), but there's also a 3-way power tap switch to open out your sound even further.
Power Tap Switch
With this switch you have three options: Single Coil, Series, and Power Tap.
In Single Coil mode you're given a straightforward, traditional bass sound that's about as articulate as you could want to it be.
In Series mode (position 2) the second coils are activated, giving you a thick, humbucking tone that's perfect for when you're playing a heavier music style.
Power Tap mode, on the other hand, gives you the best of both worlds: all the clarity and articulation of the Single Coil mode, but with the boosted bass frequencies of the Series mode.
The overall result is a bass that is suitable for pretty much any musical style you wish to play.
