Upgraded BTB Terra Firma Single Cut 6-String Bass in Redesigned Body
Not content to rest on their laurels, Ibanez have redesigned a great number of their incredible bass guitars for 2017 to ensure they continually innovate and produce fantastic instruments.
The BTB Series has seen a great evolution in 2017 with its upgraded factors and high-end bass features with the BTB846SC being a great example of the fine instruments Ibanez is known to produce.
Great Quality, Innovative Build and Design
The new sleek body has a curved bevel to help create a more elegant feel with beautiful figuring, swirls and darker pockets in the Poplar Burl top. The Mahogany body features a warm tone with rich resonance.
The Mahogany body of the BTB846SC features an extended upper horn which has solid contact with the Maple and Rosewood neck from the 12th to the 24th fret, providing maximum stability and incredible sustain.
The beautifully curve back of the body and lower, deep cutaway offers comfortable playability and extended reach at the upper frets – perfect for virtuosic bass solos and adventurous, melodious bass work.
The BTB features a 35” scale through-neck constructed with 5 pieces of Maple and Rosewood providing massive sustain and excellent stability. The added neck end adjustment allows you to adjust the neck easily without loosening the strings. Furthermore, the extended scale length is ideal for 6-String bass and helps create a clear sound and sufficient string tension for the lower strings while adding ringing sustain to the upper strings.
The stainless steel frets are highly durable and contributes to a nice, bright tone. The zero fret aids accurate intonation and minimal string height. Another great aspect of the zero fret is that it helps the sound of an open string to match that of the other frets so you get a smooth, seamless sound with your bass playing.
Upgraded Electronics and Great Hardware
The bridge and EQ have also seen a nice upgrade for 2017.
The Mono-Rail V allows for a wide intonation adjustment range and provides maximum vibration transfer from string to body without interference.
The integrated Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-Band EQ and 3-Way midfrequency switch allow for incredibly precise tonal control.
Bartolini BH2 Dual-Coil pickups with rich low frequency provide a balanced, warm response with tight bottom end and a full midrange.
Ibanez have fitted D’Addario NYXL strings, known for their dynamic range and harmonic response.
Another great feature of the BTB846SC is the inclusion of a secure, high-tech Neutrik locking output jack. No corners have been cut when producing this incredible 6 string bass guitar.
