Designed for Tone and Playability
Beneath the elegantly arched maple top is a chambered mahogany body. Allowing air to resonate between the top and body, the Gretsch G6134T-LTD Penguin boasts fantastic harmonic richness for lively, more articulate tone.
Attached to the body via set-neck construction is a maple neck with a standard "U" shape. This baseball bat style neck gives your fretting hand something really substantial to hold on to.
The ebony fretboard features 22 medium jumbo frets for great all-around playability. Furthermore, with its 12" radius you can bend your strings with ease without the fear of fretting out.
Versatile, Vintage-Inspired Tone
The driving force behind the Gretsch G6134T-LTD Penguin's voice is a set of TV Jones TV Classic pickups.
Giving you bright, twangy tones and a distinctive yet subtle growl reminiscent of late '50s Filter'Trons, these pickups are great for everything from chiming country chords to articulate rockabilly riffs.
Using the three-position toggle switch, you can choose between using both pickups at once or either one individually.
Each pickup on the Gretsch G6134T-LTD Penguin has its own dedicated volume control so you can get the mix just right between the two.
You can further shape your sound using the Master Volume and Master Tone controls.
Premium Hardware
Up on the Gretsch G6134T-LTD Penguin's striking headstock is a set of Grover Imperial tuning machines. These tuners offer secure tuning along with a precise 16:1 ratio along with distinctive, vintage aesthetics.
A bone nut is in place providing facilitating great sustain and a bright tone.
Down on the body of the Gretsch G6134T Penguin, you'll find a genuine Bigsby B3C vibrato tailpiece.
Working together with the rocking bar bridge and its pinned ebony base, this Bigsby offers that classic vibrato performance while retaining great tuning stability.
