The Gretsch Catalina Club range was created to blend the traditional configurations and classic tone from older drum kit models with contemporary forward-thinking hardware innovations. If you’re looking for a modern aesthetic but love traditional tone the Catalina Club kits are an ideal option.

Four Piece Shell Pack
There’s a reason Gretsch is such a well-respected drum company. Not only has the brand stood the test of time with a wide range of extremely successful products, but they also continue to innovate building on their tradition and experience to develop new and exciting drums.
The Catalina Club Series consists of drums made from 7 plies of 100% Mahogany. Mahogany is characterised by reduced highs, a smooth midrange and full luscious warm low-end tone. The result is a drum kit with a vibrant warm sound with full resonance. Ideal for a wide range of musical styles, Mahogany kits are great for those that want full, well rounded low-end thud. If you want a big sounding drum kit, the Catalina Club will tick all your boxes.
The shells are finished off with 30 degree bearing edges, typical of traditional drum kits, further enhancing the characteristics of mahogany with added warmth for a rich, chunky sound.
Innovative Hardware
In addition to the beautiful sounding classic mahogany shells, Gretsch have really put an emphasis on attention to detail with the Catalina Club hardware, creating a distinctive “New Gretsch” look.
In keeping with the traditional configuration of the drum kit, the 24” bass drum is undrilled. The kick features telescopic bass drum spurs for easy and precise bass drum positioning. The bass drum is also beautifully finished off with matching lacquered wood bass drum hoops for a consistent, professional overall aesthetic.
The kit also comes complete with a mini GTS tom mounting system that secures to the tension rods of the rack tom. This innovative system avoids contact with the drum shell and prevents drilling into the shell which can significantly reduce resonance. This means the shell can resonant freely to allow for improved sustain and tonal response.
The tom and snare are all fitted with 1.6mm triple flanged hoops and the full kit comes complete with Remo drumheads. The toms are also fitted with reduced mass tom mount brackets, again to reduce interference with the shell resonance for a clearer, fuller tone.
All hardware is fitted with Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts providing a consistent aesthetic across the kit and a drummer-friendly feel for quick and easy adjustment and secure positioning.
Beautiful Fade Finish
The precise hardware detailing on this drum kit is complemented perfectly by the beautiful Satin Antique Fade lacquered finish. The stunning finish has a clear wood grain and features a darker shade towards the bottom edge of the drum that tapers into a lighter tone towards the top of the shell. The luscious dark brown colour is complemented beautifully by the shining chrome hardware for an overall look that will suit a variety of musical settings. Finished off with the circular Gretsch Catalina vent badge, the Satin Antique Fade Catalina Club has an aesthetic that’s as warm as it’s tone.
