Constructing the Explorer 2019
The striking and iconic body shape of the Gibson Explorer 2019 is made completely with Mahogany.
A dense, dark wood, Mahogany gives you a warm tone with nice midrange bite for uniquely complex tone.
Attached to the body is a Mahogany neck with a slim taper for lightning fast, easy playing. Atop the neck is a traditional Rosewood fretboard with 22 low, cryogenically treated frets.
The 12” radius of the Rosewood fretboard allows for deep bends without fretting out, so you can perform however you feel.
BurstBucker Pickups for a Vintage Voice
Are you looking for that vintage Gibson Explorer sound? Then look no further.
Fitted with a set of two BurstBucker pickups, this guitar delivers a powerful new take on that vintage voice.
A 3-way pickup selector allows you to choose between using either of the pickups or a combination of the two for a variety of sounds while the two volume, one tone knob combination gives you further control over your sonic output.
High Quality Hardware
On the body of the Gibson Explorer 2019, you’ll find an aluminium Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge providing great results with awesome sustain.
A self-lubricating Tektoid nut is installed at the top of the neck, providing further enhanced sustain and a nice brightness to your tone.
Up on the headstock, there are six Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines offering extremely precise tuning of your strings thanks to their great turning ratio while holding your strings securely in tune.
