Crafting the Deluxe ASAT Special
The solid body of the Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Special has been made from Alder, a great wood that is favoured by many guitar builders due to its bright, balanced and resonant tone, pronounced upper midrange and excellent sustain.
The traditional single cutaway profile of this electric guitar isn’t just there to look good. Giving you easy access to the upper frets, the cutaway makes reaching those high notes in wailing solos a breeze.
G&L Modern Classic Neck
Attached to the single cutaway body via traditional bolt-on construction, the hard-rock Maple neck features a Modern Classic profile and boasts the G&L polished Vintage Gloss finish giving it a great look along with a silky playing feel that’s far from sticky unlike other gloss finishes.
Atop the neck is a Rosewood fretboard holding 22 medium jumbo Jescar 57110 nickel silver frets which only add to the amazing playability of this fantastic electric guitar.
Jumbo MFD Pickups
Designed by Leo Fender and made in Fullerton, California, a pair of jumbo G&L MFD single coil pickups give this guitar its fantastic voice.
These jumbo single-coil Magnetic Field Design pickups have narrow bobbin apertures with shallow yet wide coils.
While this makes them somewhat similar to P-90 and Jazzmaster pickups, the expertise behind the MFD pickups means they give you punchier low end and brighter high end with rich harmonics.
With the three-way pickup selector, you can choose between using either of the two pickups or a combination of the two while simple volume and tone controls allow you to quickly dial in the perfect sound you’re looking for.
Innovative Hardware
On the body of the Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Special, you’ll find Leo’s innovative Saddle-Lock bridge.
The six individual chrome-plated brass saddles found in the Saddle-Lock bridge offer incredibly precise intonation and actually lock onto the strings.
This eliminates side to side movement which deadens your tone while the bridge transfers your string vibration directly into the body of the guitar.
With the string energy passed into the guitar in the direction of the grain, you get fantastic resonance for incredible tone.
Up on the headstock, you’ll find six sealed-back 12:1 ratio tuning machines providing incredible precise and secure tuning of your strings.
