Fender Starcaster, Semi-Hollow Electric Bass Guitar in Black
During the 1970's Fender produced a small handful of prototype semi-hollow bass guitars, with a distinctive offset body, two growling humbuckers, and the kind of visual appeal that would leave you yearning for it for many years AFTER you'd convinced yourself that you made it up and it didn't exist (a bit like that 90's genie film starring the American comedian Sinbad).
Now, after decades of virtually fabled status, the electrifying Modern Player Starcaster Bass is available from Fender, and offers superior sound, build and beauty ideal for bassists with a flair for appealingly unconventional Fender style.
The only offset semi-hollow bass in Fender's history
This reissue of the near mythological Starcaster comes with a thin semi-hollow offset body, stylish f-holes, dual-humbuckers and a relatively short (30") scale neck, making it relatively easy to play as well as sounding great.
Semi Hollow Maple Body with Alder Centre Block
A key feature, and arguably one of the most charming aspects about this bass is the semi-hollow body. The construction is responsible for the resonant tonal character of the bass, and the addition of an Alder Centre Block (absent from the original bass) grants you more sustain and less change of unwanted feedback.
Wide Range Bass Humbucking Pickups
A definite nod in the direction of the original Starcaster, these humbucking bass pickups produce a full-bodied and throaty tonal character whilst having the benefit of also looking incredibly cool.
The classic Fender short scale length (30", as opposed to 34"-35" of most modern day basses) make this instrument much more comfortable to handle, making it ideal for students, beginners and younger or smaller players wanting to enjoy the easy reach of a short-scale bass guitar.
The unique Hi-Mass bridge not only gives the Starcaster a more modern look, but it's also constructed to provide plenty of rock-solid sustain, intonation and tuning stability, making it functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.
For that extra finishing touch of class, Fender have bound the Starcaster's offset semi-hollow body's top and bottom body sections in white.
The comfortable modern "C" profile neck and smooth maple fingerboard makes for almost excessively smooth playing.
This awesome and relatively rare instrument is perfect for the modern bassplayer looking for something that's visually a little different. Contact our sales team directly to discuss shipping and finance options for this guitar.
