Lead The Way
Released in the late '70s as a response to high-quality, low-priced guitars being imported by competitors, the Fender Lead II had a great new look and sound.
Designed and built in Fender's legendary Fullerton, California factory, the Fender Lead II featured a new body design, hard-tail bridge and unique, new wiring options.
Now, in tribute to the original '70s model, the Fender Player Lead II features dual-slanted Player series pickups, dual toggle switches and the unique Lead double-cutaway shape.
Made in Fender's Ensenada, Mexico factory, the Fender Player Lead II offers incredible performance at a great value price.

Creative New Design
The unique body shape of the Fender Player II is comfortably ergonomic and its double cutaway design allows for easy reach of the higher frets.
A smooth, satin finished maple neck is attached and features a modern "C" profile for added playing comfort.
Atop the neck is a 9.5" radius maple fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets for all-around playability.
Unique Electronics
One of the greatest features of the Fender Player Lead II is its unique electronics.
A pair of Player Series Alnico 5 Strat single-coil pickups provide the voice of this great guitar. Their powerful tone and response give you an impressively punch sound.
Allowing you to adjust your sound, the Fender Player Lead II guitar features two toggle switches.
The first of these is a pickup selector switch giving you the following options:
- Position 1. Bridge Pickup
- Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups
- Position 3. Neck Pickup
When in Position 2, with both pickups activated, you can use the second toggle switch which allows you to choose between IN phase and OUT of phase options.
With the two pickups in-phase, they work together to produce a reinforced, full and rich sound.
When the pickups are out-of-phase, the pickups work against each other, resulting in thinner, more edgy tone.
Adding to the already awesome aesthetic of this stylish electric guitar, the slanted pickups are white in stark contrast to the 3-ply black pickguard.
Simple Yet Effective Hardware
Up on the headstock, you'll find six vintage-style tuners providing old-school appearances along with precise and secure tuning.
Fitted to the body of the Fender Lead II is a 6-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge with individual block saddles.
With no tremolo attached, this bridge, especially with its string-through design, acts as a solid anchor, working with the resonance of the guitar's alder body.
With individual steel block saddles, you get precise intonation along with bright, cutting tone.
