When Two Legends Collide
As mentioned above: Fender Japan have combined two classic gutiars in the creation of this awesome axe.
With the Korina body being inspired by the Jazzmaster, this guitar is shaped for comfort, with the offset waist making it just as ideal for playing when seated as when you're standing.
Complimenting the body is a Korina Telecaster neck, with a "U" profile shape, and a Rosewood fingerboard, delivering a classic Tele playing experience for your fretting hand.
In addition to this, the guitar sports a Tele-style black pickguard, as well as Tele-style electronic controls.
What Is Korina?
Korina is a more common name for the tonewood known as Limba, and has been used in electric guitar construction since the late 1950s.
Tonally, Korina is similar to Mahogany, offering a rich and warm voice, but with added high-end snap and clarity, making it a perfect companion to the P90 Soapbar pickups that Fender has paired it with.
Tonally Versatile
As mentioned above, Fender have opted to equip this guitar with a set of P90 single coil "Soapbar" pickups, sitting in the Neck and Bridge positions on the body.
These pickups, despite being Single Coil in nature, utilise a unique coil-winding and 8 polie-piece setup to deliver a sound that sits somewhere between a traditional Single Coil and a Humbucker.
The sound that they produce can be described as having large amounts of midrange, but with a Strat-like twang that's perfectly complimented by the Korina body.
