Fender George Harrison Telecaster – an incredible instrument, originally made for George Harrison is recreated now for you in painstaking detail, paying tribute to the original guitar and Harrison himself.
George Harrison’s Rooftop Telecaster
30th January, 1969 – it was a brisk winter’s day in London when The Beatles hit the rooftop of Apple Corps Ltd at 3 Savile Row, performing together in public for the very last time.
Performing now legendary songs Get Back, Don’t Let Me Down, I’ve Got a Feeling, One After 909 and Dig a Pony – the Fab Four gave us an unforgettable and historical event, a real iconic occasion for pop culture, rock and roll and the 20th Century as a whole.
It was captured on the documentary film “Let It Be”, which saw The Beatles collectively winning an Academy Award for Best Original Score and gave Fab Four fans who weren’t lucky enough to be walking through Mayfair, central London that day to experience this monumental performance.
Musicians and savvy Beatles aficionados alike had their eyes drawn, not just to the fabulous winter coats the Liverpool boys wore to fend off the London winds, but the new Fender Telecaster that Harrison performed on, drawing attention to itself with its distinctive all Rosewood body and unique tone.
Designed especially for George Harrison by renowned luthier Roger Rossmeisl, this Beatles guitar was used extensively throughout the Get Back sessions.
Strictly limited to only 1,000 units worldwide, Fender have painstakingly recreated this iconic instrument, giving you an opportunity to own not just a fantastic guitar but a tribute to a seminal event and one of the greatest musical artists that ever lived.
All Rosewood Telecaster
Often simply referred to as the “George Harrison guitar” or the “rooftop telecaster”, this amazing instrument is immediately identifiable by its all Rosewood build.
Reducing weight and increasing resonance, the body has been chambered, allowing for a much more comfortable playing experience while enhancing the sound.
The body has also been treated to a hand-rubbed satin polyurethane finish, giving it that smooth and textured look and feel and the classic Fender “noodle” logo can be found on the headstock.
The fully Rosewood, mid-60s era C-shaped neck holds a Rosewood fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and pearl dot position inlays. Extremely smooth and easy to play, the neck has a satin urethane finish.
On the back of this amazing Telecaster you will find a neckplate in which an Om symbol has been lovingly engraved, paying homage to George Harrison’s deep spirituality.
At the headstock you will find Fender vintage “F” stamped tuning machines, offering precise and stable tuning with great, vintage flavour while a 42mm (1.650”) synthetic bone nut sits at the top of the neck.
As with the original George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster, you will find that the bridge is a 3-saddle vintage style Tele with slotted steel saddles, making adjustment easy and adding to the authentic vibe.
Again, matching Harrison’s own guitar, you will find a 3-ply black pickguard that complements the Rosewood body while offering a striking contrast to the Nickel/Chrome finished hardware.
Giving the George Harrison Telecaster its distinctive sound along with its chambered Rosewood body is a pair of American Vintage ’64 Gray-Bottom Single-Coil Tele pickups.
Found at both the bridge and neck positions, these American Vintage ’64 pickups really deliver that vintage tone and legendary Tele workhorse versatility.
A three-position blade allows you to select between each pickup individually or a combination of both while the classic two knob control setup allows you to adjust the Master Volume and Master Tone.
Own A Piece of Rock ‘n’ Roll History
When it comes to Beatles memorabilia, this guitar is about as good as it gets and any George Harrison fan would quite rightly see a guitar such as this as the “holy grail” and what with its exclusivity due to only 1000 being produced worldwide, you’re going to need to snatch this one up while you can.
Coming to you in a hardshell case to protect your investment, the George Harrison Telecaster is a guitar you will absolutely cherish and pass down through the generations.
