Well known in guitar circles for his desire to achieve the perfect tone, Eric Johnson approached Fender to form a unique collaboration in designing a new signature model guitar.
The result is the Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Thinline which perfectly marries the tones of Johnson's favourite semi-hollow body guitars and his Fender Stratocaster.

Crafting the Eric Johnson Thinline Stratocaster
At first glance, you'll see the body of the Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster has that same classic Strat body design with the double cutaway allowing for easy reach of the higher frets, but with one extremely noticeable exception.
With a vintage-style f-hole in place, the body of the Eric Johnson Stratocaster has a custom-chambered body which has been finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer which allows the wood to "breathe" with natural resonance for distinctive tonal character.
Attached is a quarter sawn Maple neck with a '57 soft V-shaped profile for a comfortable fretting hand feel that is reminiscent of legendary Fender guitars from the '50s.
For enhanced playability, the neck features a 12" radius Maple fretboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets.
Eric's Own Electronics and Vintage Style Hard
The three single-coil Stratocaster pickups on the Eric Johnson signature Stratocaster were specifically voiced to meet specifications set out by Eric himself.
The pickups were then mounted to the semi-hollow Alder body with countersunk screws for improved vibration transfer so you really get that beautiful character from the body's natural resonance.
Other great custom features include the vintage-style tremolo bridge with silver-painted block and the '57-style string recesses for the ultimate in classic styling.
Up on the headstock are vintage-style staggered tuning machines allowing for precise and secure tuning of your strings while adding some vintage visual flair.
This, combined with the ’57 style parchment pickguard and “ashtray” bridge cover, gives this Eric Johnson signature guitar a real look of the golden years of rock ‘n’ roll guitars.
