Top Notch Construction
An acoustic guitar will always get its voice from the woods used in its construction. For this CN-140SCE, Fender have opted to use a Solid Cedar Top , sitting on a body of Laminated Walnut - a nod to traditional Classical guitar construction.
The combination of Cedar and Walnut results in a warm and mellow tone, making it ideal for use with this guitar's nylon strings.
In addition to this, the combination of a sleek Mahogany neck, rolled fret edges, and a single cutaway body design, results in a modern, high-performance level of playability not usually seen on a nylon stringed model.
Nylon Strings
In true classical guitar tradition, the Fender CN-140SCE comes equipped with a set of Nylon strings - with the 3 lower register strings (E, A, and D) being of the steel/bronze variety, and the 3 upper register strings (G, B, and E) being made from Nylon.
Tonally, a Nylon Stringed Guitar is much more mellow sounding than a Steel String, and lends itself well to fingerstyle and Flamenco players. This natural tone generated by the Nylon strings also works perfectly with the Cedar and Walnut tonewoods used in this guitar's construction.
Fishman Electronics
An upgraded feature of previous models, this CN-140SCE comes equipped with a Fishman Presys electronics system.
This combination of an under-saddle pickup and Fishman preamp allows you to amplify your sound via acoustic amp or PA system, making the guitar perfect for performing in front of crowds, or even recording in a studio.
