Fender American Professional Jazz Bass, seen here in a beautifully Natural finish with a Maple fretboard, a fantastic take on a classic and extremely versatile bass guitar.

American Professional Jazz Bass

Originally released back in 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass is one of the most popular bass guitar models of all time.

Speedy, powerful, articulate and extremely versatile – there have been many imitators of this fantastic bass design but nothing quite matches the real thing.

Not content to rest on their laurels, Fender have taken the jazz bass and further pushed its design elements to improve on an already fantastic instrument.

Taking the best of its classic design and incorporating modern features, material and design know how, with the American Professional series, Fender have produced their best jazz bass yet.

Crafting A New Classic

Using Ash, Fender have crafted the great jazz bass body featuring its double cutaway design making it easy to reach the higher frets; perfect for solos and more adventurous bass lines.

Its natural finish gives it a great look with the beautiful grain of the Ash being shown off.

The Maple neck features a Slim C shape, making it fast, easy and comfortable to play with a Maple fingerboard on top holding 20 narrow tall frets giving you perfect intonation and an extremely natural playing feel.

Newly Designed V-Mod Jazz Bass Pickups

Pickup designing legend, Michael Bump has developed the brand-new V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, which make use of a carefully selected combination of alnico magnet types.

The end result is a beautifully balanced tone with authentic Fender jazz bass tone.

To tailor your tone to match your preference, there are two volume knobs (one for each pickup) and a Master Tone control.

High Quality Hardware

At the headstock of the Fender American Professional Jazz Bass you will find redesigned tuning machines that use a fluted shaft. This creates the optimum break angle over the nut while maintaining taut string windings, increasing sustain while bolstering tuning stability.

Down on the body, there is a 4-Saddle HiMass Vintage bridge which enhances note attack, resonance and sustain for some big bass lines while allowing for both topload and strings-thru-body stringing.

Adding stability to the neck and guarding against warping, Fender have installed Posiflex graphite support rods that run the length of the neck.

Fender’s Best Jazz Bass Made Better

With the new American Professional Jazz Bass, Fender have brought along everything that bassists love about the jazz bass guitar and where possible, improved it.

Coming to you in a protective elite moulded case, with vintage features, classic Fender jazz bass tone combined with modern playability and manufacturing techniques, the jazz bass just got a whole lot better.
