Crafting the American Original ‘60s Precision Bass
Alder has been used to craft the iconic shape of the American Original ‘60s Precision Bass, with its distinctive double cutaway allowing for easy reach of the higher frets.
Attached to the body, you’ll find a Maple neck with a thick “1963 C” shape profile which gives you a substantial yet comfortable grip with your fretting hand.
A round-laminated Rosewood fretboard with vintage tall frets gives you that classic playing feel while its 9.5” radius is more modern and familiar.
The body is finished in a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer which allows the P bass to breathe with a natural resonance with the lacquer ageing in an aesthetically pleasing way over time too.
Vintage-Style Hardware and Electronics
On the body of the American Original ‘60s Precision Bass, you’ll find a 4-saddle vintage style bridge with threaded steel saddles and at the headstock there are Pure Vintage Reverse Open-Gear tuning machines, working together to keep your strings perfectly in tune while adding some authentic vintage flair.
Giving the American Original 60s P Bass its classic sound is a Pure Vintage ’63 P Bass split-coil pickup that is as period-correct as possible.
From its enamel-coated coil wire and cloth-covered output wires to the fibre bobbins and Alnico 5 magnets, this pickup gives you the powerful punch that has been so influential on the sound of modern music.
