Built for Excellence
The EVH Wolfgang Special is instantly striking with its distinctive double cutaway body and arched top.
Attached to the body via sturdy bolt-on construction is an oil finished quartersawn Maple neck. Graphite reinforcement ensures rock-solid stability while protecting the neck from becoming warped.
Sticking to Eddie Val Halen’s personal, exacting specifications the neck has been carved and rolled and boasts a hand-rubbed, oiled finish. In short; the EVH Wolfgang Special’s neck is a dream to play.
Atop the neck is a Maple fretboard with a 12” – 16” compound radius. This gives you a rounder fretboard towards the nut for comfortable chording and smooth riffing.
Moving up the neck, the fretboard gradually flattens out so you get the perfect playing space for lead guitar licks and deep bends with no fear of fretting out.
Wolfgang Humbuckers
Giving the EVH Wolfgang Special the powerhouse tones needed for face melting guitar solos and gut punching riffs is a set of Wolfgang humbucking pickups.
Direct mounted to the Basswood body of the Wolfgang Special, these pickups have that extra oomph to take your performance up a notch!
A 3-position toggle is on hand so you can choose between using either pickup individually or a combination of the two.
The volume control features a 500K EVH Bourns low friction pot while a 250K EVH Bourns high friction pot is installed for the tone control adding to this delectable recipe for serious sonic performance.
Coming in the form of black “Speed” knobs, the controls continue the awesome aesthetic of the EVH Wolfgang Special while allowing you to dial in that perfect tone as fast as you need.
High Performance Hardware
In keeping with the high-end nature of this awe-inspiring electric guitar, locking Floyd Rose hardware has been installed.
On the body of the EVH Wolfgang Special is an EVH Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge so you can get all that deep and dynamic whammy action with rock-solid and reliable tuning stability.
This tuning stability is further bolstered by the inclusion of a Floyd Rose R2 locking nut so you can be as expressive and aggressive as your performance demands.
Adding to the versatility of this tour de force of an electric guitar is an EVH D-Tuna fitted to the bridge.
This awesome bit of gear allows you to drop from E to D tuning and back again in an instant so there’s nothing to hold you back mid-performance.
