The Evans 16” Strata 1000 Concert Drum Head simulates the typical sound of calf skin heads using a synthetic head construction for a warm tom sound.
Calf Skin Sound and Feel
Evans have designed their Strata range of tom heads specifically for concert toms. Utilizing a unique coating, these heads simulate the warmth of tone usually associated with calfskin heads. Using a synthetic drum head construction, however, offers a better consistency of sound compared to previous calf skin counterparts. The textured coating also offers a similar feel to that of calfskin.
This very durable drum head provides a good attack, a robust sustain and a decent amount of tone.
If you want your concert toms to project well with a responsive attack, full sustain and warm tone, the Strata 1000s are for you.
The Strata 1000 is available in sizes 6” - 18”.
Level 360 Technology
As with all Evans drum heads, the Strata 1000 series features unique Level 360 Technology.
This technology means the rim of the drum head has a vertically enhanced collar which ensures balanced contact with the shell bearing edge. This results in a proper contact between the head and the shell, ensuring a consistent fit so that the head won't damage easily or lose tension. The drumhead rim also features a roll-over hoop designed to improve the strength and stability of the head without diminishing performance.
This technology ensures a more consistent head to shell contact that provides a wider range of tuning, better responsiveness and resonance, and a stronger, longer lasting head. What’s not to like?
