ESP LTD Phoenix 401 2TSB, Electric Guitar in 2 Tone Sunburst

For a long time ESP had a reputation for producing extreme looking, no-nonsense guitars that every aspiring metal guitarist yearned for.  Whether it was the overall guitar shape (such as their EX models and modified V's) or even just the wood tops and finishes applied to their guitars, they would stand out head and shoulders above the rest.  With the LTD Phoenix 401 2TSB, ESP's LTD factory have returned to those roots, giving you a guitar that looks like it means serious business, but is an absolute dream to play.

This guitar most definitely isn't your typical ESP

For this particular Eclipse model, ESP have eschewed the use of EMG pickups, instead opting for the classic Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB and SH-1.  Add to that the Thin U neck profile, LTD tuners and 22 Xtra Jumbo frets and you have an incredibly versatile guitar that's an awesome fusion of vintage and modern, and that certainly sports a classic rock look but without the clunky-feel you sometimes get with similar guitars.

The Pickups

The SH-4 JB is one of Seymour Duncan's most popular pickups of all time.  The pickup produces a full and powerful low end, with crisp and detailed highs sitting atop an upper-midrange bump that sounds exquisite whether you're banging out heavy chords or single-note melodies.

The SH-1 '59 Neck pickup is another firm favourite with Seymour Duncan enthusiasts.  This pickup was designed in the spirit of the original 1950's P.A.F. humbuckers, and provides you with sweet sustain, full-sounding chords, clear and bright attack, and through modern developments is now more versatile than ever.  Featuring a full low-end which adds an incredible amount of character to clean sounds  and bags of sustain to leads, a slightly-boosted high-end for improved clarity, and slightly scooped mids for an open, smooth sound that's incredible for preserving individual note clarity when playing chords.

The Price

ESP LTD's 400 series of guitars have been crafted to offer rock and metal guitar enthusiasts a high-quality but budget-friendly alternative to what's already on the market.  In this case you would be getting an incredibly well-constructed guitar, with a wide range of accessible tones and playstyles, but for significantly less than £600.  In addition to this, here at PMT we have a range of finance options available (including 0% interest) to help you spread the cost over several months!

If you order this guitar today before 3pm you will qualify for our fast, free and reliable next day delivery service (UK customers only, subject to stock levels).
