A New Chapter In The SG Saga
After the initial success of the Les Paul guitar, Gibson opted for a brave new approach - a dual-cutaway instrument, with a slimmer body, aimed at a new generation of guitarists.
Unfortunately, Les Paul himself didn't like the design, so his name was removed to the headstock, and the guitar was simply referred to as the Gibson Solid Guitar - which eventually became abbreviated to SG.
Despite the reintroduction of the Les Paul a few years later, the SG had proven so popular that the company continued to make them.
Over the years the SG has seen numerous reissues and upgrades, and today the SG Muse is added to the illustrious lineup.
Slimline Design
Part of the original SG's appeal was down to the body being of a sleeker design than its predecessor, and that's still very much the case with the SG Muse.
The body has been carved from solid Mahogany, to deliver that rich and powerful tone the SG is renowned for.
In addition to this, the neck is also carved from Mahogany, and features a Custom "C" profile shape, which combines the stability and comfort of a Slim Taper profile, with the fast-playing, easy-access feel of a traditional SG neck.
Uncompromising Sound
In addition to unique looks and incredible playability, the SG has always been renowned for producing an incredible sound.
Continuing that tradition, the SG Muse comes equipped with a pair of powerful Alnico Classic Pro humbucker, that deliver the kind of tonal supremacy and versatility that will allow you to switch from chugging rhythms to clean open chords and searing lead lines with ease.
Each pickup features independent Volume and Tone controls, but that's not all. Each of the Volume pots feature a Push/Pull function for coil splitting the pickups, whilst the Tone controls have push/pull Phase Switching function.
In addition to this, there's a Treble Bleed circuit wired in, which allows you to roll back the volume without negatively affecting the guitar's tone.
