Epiphone have long been offering guitarists a more affordable option into the world of those coveted Les Paul instruments, and their latest offering - the Les Paul Studio LT - is a great entry to their lineup, and is arguably the perfect entry-level Les paul guitar for complete beginners or those of you on a tighter budget.
An Incredible Introduction to a Rock Legend
Featuring a solid mahogany body, with carved mahogany top, a pair of powerful Zebra-Coil Ceramic humbuckers, and a bolted-on mahogany neck with a 1960's style SlimTaper "D" shaped profile, and a stunning Vintage Sunburst finish, this relatively lightweight guitar is an excellent option for you to sink your teeth into.
Lightweight Construction
This guitar's all-mahogany body is slightly slimmer than a standard Les Paul, making it more lightweight and much easier to handle during those long practice and studio sessions. Despite this, the body is still solid, and helps you experience that tell-tale Les Paul sound and playing experience.
Zebra Coils
Ceramic pickups have long been favoured by hard-rock and metal guitarists, as they offer a higher output than vintage Alnico magnets. To give the pickups an even better bass response and magnetic pull, owners of vintage Les Pauls would often remove the pickup covers, revealing the sometimes black and white ("zebra") bobbins underneath, and as such the Zebra Coil pickups became a staple for Les Paul users the world over.
With the 650R and 700T humbuckers in the Epiphone Les Paul Studio LT, you get a tight low-end response, but with a smooth mid-range and slightly more-pronounced top-end. The overall sound provides you with plenty of tonal versatility, and is suitable for a variety of blues, rock, and metal playstyles.
