Before we begin I'd just like to say one thing: this is an Overdrive pedal, not a boost! There, I've said it. And now onto the pedal, the awesome Speaker Cranker Overdrive Pedal from EarthQuaker Devices! This excellent, singular-knobbed pedal is a discrete, all-analog distortion enhancer (not a booster) that gives your signal plenty of extra grit without affecting the overall tone of your playing.
An Overdrive Pedal, Not a Boost!
There's not an awful lot I can digress about the controls here if I'm perfeclty honest. The single control knob, called More, which ... well, gives you more dirt if you want it. That's pretty much it. Despite the ease of control, the overdriven (not boosted) sounds you get from this pedal are pretty incredible.
The control itself works similar to a tube amp: the lower the dial, the thinner and quieter the tones, but crank that baby up and you'll still hear your guitar's tone, but fuller and ever so slightly compressed. You add some tube-like breakup to your amp without overloading the preamp, fatten up the sound of your favourite pedal, use it as a second amp channel, stack some overdrive for a more touch-responsive cascading gain tone... there's plenty can be done with this pedal.
Just remember, it's an overdrive, not a boost!

As with all pedals from EarthQuaker Devices, the Speaker Cranker takes a standard 9v DC power supply with negative centre barrel. We recommend you use a pedal-specific, transformer-isolated power adapter as these help filter out any unwanted sound from unclean power signals. Do NOT run this pedal at higher voltages! The current draw for this pedal is 2mA
