Straight from the dusty, barren planet known as Arakis Akron, Ohio (USA), and handcrafted by those wonderfully clever Fremen over at EarthQuaker Devices, PMT are pleased to introduce to you the Dunes, an overdrive pedal to conquer all others. I cannot possibly do this overdrive pedal justice with words alone; as far as overdrives go I (personally) haven't played anything better in this price range.
The Muad'Dib of Overdrive Pedals!
Designed as a more condensed version of the very popular Palisades (which in turn is a heavily featured homage to the classic 808 OD pedal), the Dunes features exactly the same Gain, Tone and level controls, "Normal/Bright" toggle, voice and bandwidth settings.
You get the option of three different voices to choose from: MOSFET, which gives you a tight and crunchy sound, Silicon to get that classic 808 sound, and None for the option of going from clean boost, to gritty, pure opamp distortion with a huge volume boost. In addition to this you also have two bandwidth settings: Stock for the classic tone and Full Range which dumps in much more low end.
As well as the fancy settings mentioned above, you also get the by-now-familiar control knob setup of Gain, Tone, and Level/Volume. As with all pedals from EarthQuaker Devices, the Dunes Overdrive Pedal takes a standard 9v DC power supply with a negative centre barrel. We recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated power adapted for all pedals as this will minimise the amount of unwanted noise present due to unclean power signals. Do NOT run this pedal at higher voltages than stated. The current draw of the Dunes is 10mA
