Previously unavailable outside of the US, this awesome Fuzz pedal is now invading the UK. Based heavily on the Silicon transistor driven fuzz boxes of the 1970's, the DOD Carcosa Fuzz delivers a wonderful range of tone and drive for guitarists and bassists alike.
Dual Operation for classic 70's fuzz tones!
This fuzz pedal comes with two modes, which are integral to helping recapture those classic 70's fuzz sounds:
Hali mode gives you a lighter fuzz sound, acting almost like a treble booster for when your amp is already running hot. It pushes the top end that little bit to help brighten up the dirtiest of pickups.
Demhe mode sounds raw and pounds the front end of your amp. Whilst in this mode your low-mid frequencies are boosted to help you stand out above the mix when needed!
Once the mode you want is selected, that's when the fun begins!
The "Before" and "After" dials work together to help you generate the perfect fuzz sound for your situation; they work as "bias knobs" to deliver a wide-reaching array of tones, regardless of the mode you're in. There's a huge amount of sweet-spots for you to discover in adjusting these, even when the "After" control knob is tuned higher than "Before".
The "Hi-Cut" dial is a poweful tone shaper with a highly effective filter. This dial helps to run the pedal alone without any mismatches in tone and helps prevent the Carcosa from producing "ice-picky" tones that are often prevalent with "vintage-style" fuzz pedals. The dial also serves as a makeshift EQ to prepare the signal for any subsequent pedals in your circuit.
Finally, there's the volume control knob. This little pedal contains an awful lot of volume boost - don't be afraid to use it!
