Brand new to PMT and fresh from Finland's very own Darkglass Electronics, we present to you the Vintage Micro Tubes - Bass Overdrive Pedal. Used and endorsed by the likes of bass afficionado Alberto Rigoni and the wonderfully talented Bryan Beller (of The Aristocrats and, more importantly, Dethklok fame), this premium overdrive pedal arguably wipes the floor with all of its similarly price competitors.
No Tube, No Problem
How it Works
As with all Darkglass pedals, the secrets of the Vintage Micro Tubes lie within the exquisite electronics and control knobs.
First there's the Level control, which allows you to set the volume of the overdriven signal. Then there's the Drive control, with which you set the amount of ovedrive saturation that you want. Next comes the excellent Blend control, that lets you mix both the clean and overdrive signals to your heart's content (the clean signal remains at unity gain, whilst the overdrive signal is kept in check via the Level knob). Finally there's the Era control knob, which helps shape the character of the pedal in unison with the Drive control - at it's lowest the pedal will produce some nice warm midrange tones, reminiscent of 70's era rock, but cranked up it gives you the punch metallic tones that were ever present during the 80's and 90's.
