  • Is Native Instruments Kontakt free?

KONTAKT PLAYER is a free application that runs all of our KONTAKT instruments, as well as a large number of instruments from other companies. It's one of the elements included in the free KOMPLETE START package – download and install via Native Access.
  • Is Kontakt a DAW?

Kontakt can run as a standalone application but is used most often as an audio instrument (or plug-in) inside a digital audio workstation (DAW, sequencer).
  • What's the difference between komplete and Kontakt?

Kontakt is a sampler and Komplete 1-13 is a bundle of NI products. Kontakt is a library (figuratively) and Komplete (as a plugin) is the librarian. As a plugin, Komplete will pull all of your NI presets into one searchable and playable instrument.
