EARPLUGS FOR SLEEPING

Due to the low profile form factor of most Alpine Music earplugs, they are equally well suited for sleeping and rest, as well as loud music environments. Many people struggle with getting a good nights sleep, and comfortable earplugs are a cost-effective solution - a real no brainer!

EARPLUGS FOR LIVE MUSICIANS

Tinnitus is one of the most common problems we face as musicians. After a few years of playing in loud, live music environments, you may start to notice high pitched ringing in your ears which you may never fully recover from. The only way to protect yourself is with proper earplugs with tailored filters to keep your hearing safe. Alpine offers a wide range of earplugs below, with interchangeable dB filters that help attenuate different volumes depending on your location.

EARPLUGS FOR DJS

Anyone who has stood behind the wheels of steel in a club environment will appreciate just how loud it can get at peak hours! With booth monitors often metres from either ear, hearing protection is an essential (and often overlooked) part of your kit bag you should never be without. Alpine's Musicsafe Classic and Musicsafe Pro are two tried-and-tested earplugs that work well for DJs.

FAQs

  • How many decibels (dB) is too loud?

A whisper is about 30 dB, normal conversation is about 60 dB, and a motorcycle engine running is about 95 dB. Noise above 70 dB over a prolonged period of time may start to damage your hearing. Loud noise above 120 dB can cause immediate harm to your ears
  • Do ear defenders block out all noise?

Ear defenders reduce the volume of sound, but they don't block it out completely. People are often left disappointed with their first earplugs, expectomh them to completely block out sound, but this isn't the case even with the most expensive pairs.
  • Can you sanitize ear plugs?

Add a mild soap, like dish detergent, to warm water and mix until you see suds. Or, use undiluted hydrogen peroxide. Soak your earplugs in the cleaning solution. Let them sit undisturbed in the soapy water or hydrogen peroxide for several minutes.
  • Are ear plugs bad for ears?

Earplugs are generally safe however they can raise a few potential side effects over prolonged over-use. Over time, earplugs can push earwax back into your ear, causing a buildup that produces temporary hearing loss if you don't regularly rest your ears.
  • Is a higher dB rating better?

Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is a unit of measurement used to determine the effectiveness of hearing protection devices to decrease sound exposure within a given working environment - The higher the NRR number, the greater the protection.
