The best really has got better with the Grand Opening of flagship PMT Store in Birmingham being a huge success!

After nineteen years at Lawley Middleway, Professional Music Technology in Birmingham moved to its brand-new, purpose-built premise at Trident Park on Westley Street and opened its doors on Saturday 15th June to give customers a sensational, musical experience.

ABOUT THE NEW PMT BIRMINGHAM

The new store still remains to be the UK’s largest and most respected music store, with 10,000 sq ft of retail space filled to the rafters with guitars, bass guitars, drums, keyboards, pianos, PA and DJ and recording equipment, plus special features, some of which you will not find in any other music shop in the world!

A mezzanine has been installed for a custom-built Yamaha Premier Centre and a fully-stocked House of Drums department. Something that did move from the original store was Europe’s largest single guitar wall, which has been lovingly rebuilt and looks as impressive as ever.

The spinning Fender â€˜chandelier’ also made the move along with the giant red Stratocaster too! Plus, PMT Birmingham’s on-site guitar technician is still available for all your modification and repair needs.

Other new features of the store include an open-plan amplifier and accessories floor, a dedicated sound booth from Orange Amps, a concert-sized stage for live performances and to test PA systems and speakers, a Hi-Tech area dedicated to Nord pianosMoog and Arturia synthesizers, an entire wall of studio monitors, a Premier Taylor and Martin Heritage rooms for all your acoustic guitar needs, and a relaunched Roland Store that is home to the latest gear from Roland and BOSS that is all set up and ready to play.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE GRAND OPENING DAY?

With 350 people queued up in anticipation before the doors of the new store opened and over 1,000 people attending the Grand Opening day, it was a joy to see PMT thriving with emerging talented, young musicians, new customers experiencing a PMT Store for the first time and, of course, familiar faces that have supported PMT for decades, all at the big event.

The Grand Opening day was made even more spectacular by the special guests who appeared for the event, which included Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden, 14-year-old bluesman Toby Lee, YouTube sensation Chris Buck, Electric Light Orchestra’s drummer Bev Bevan and Joy Strachan-Brain of the band Quill. Bernie, Toby, and Chris all got up on stage and played as a trio and even signed autographs for fans after the live performances.
