Hot off the tails of the Piano 4, the new Nord Grand is here. Is this a serious contender for the most expressive, playable Digital Grand Piano ever made? Let's find out...

The Nord Grand introduces brand new technology in the form of a Kawai Responsive 88-note Hammer Action keybed. Advanced Triple Sensors capture the movement of the hammers, rather than the keys themselves. It looks set to provide their most realistic Grand Piano feel to date. Grand also comes with 120 voice note polyphony, creative piano filters, dynamic curve control and Advanced String Resonance. If you want a Digital Piano that can be fine-tuned in every way - this is it!

Advanced String Resonance (ASR)

Similarly to the Piano 4, the Nord Grand also employs Advanced String Resonance, which vastly improves the sound shaping potential. ASR reproduces the intricate interplay of piano strings resonating at their fundamental or harmonic frequencies when other notes are played. It also adds the rich resonant ambience of a real piano when playing with pedal down.

Sound Piano Library

As with other Nord Piano series instruments, the Grand features an extensive collection of high quality sounds from the acclaimed Nord Sound Library. With 10 Grands, 9 Uprights, 10 Enhanced Electric Pianos, a Clavinet, Digital Pianos and more, you've got more than enough under the hood to utilise it as a Stage Piano or Studio keyboard.

Dedicated Sample Synth Section

As well as the traditional piano sounds, Grand also comes equipped with a comprehensive Sample Synth library. A broad selection of Orchestral Strings, Brass and Choirs, as well as Electronic Synth sounds. All drafted in from the Nord Sample Library 3.0. The Synth section allows for ASDR envelope editing on these synth sounds. This makes it a powerful tool for studio work, or crafting the ultimate stage sound.

Integrated Effects Section

The Effect section has a wide range of instantly tweakable high quality stereo effects modelled after classic stomp boxes. All effects can be assigned freely to the Piano or Sample Synth section. The Nord Grand Effect section includes Tremolo, Phaser, Chorus, Pan, Wah, RM, Flanger, Vibe, EQ, Delay and Reverb. The Reverb effect has three different types Hall, Stage and Room, each with an optional Bright Mode.
