As Woodstock 50 may or may not be going ahead, we’ve rounded up some essential Woodstock 2019 gear so you can have your own festival, regardless!
The future of the eagerly anticipated Woodstock 2019, or Woodstock 50 as it’s otherwise known is hanging in the balance – will it go ahead? Is it doomed? The festival itself is scheduled to be held on August 16–18, 2019, but after many problems with investors, venues and other stuff we won’t bore you with, the festival might not be going ahead, much to the dismay of fans.
The likes of Jay-Z, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Robert Plant, The Raconteurs, Cage the Elephant and Janelle Monáe plus many more were set to play, making it a very exciting festival indeed. In addition, a host of artists who played the original festival back in 1969 such as Dead & Company (featuring three members of the Grateful Dead), Santana, David Crosby, Melanie, John Sebastian, John Fogerty, Hot Tuna, Canned Heat and Country Joe McDonald are also set to play.
However, this is all hanging in the balance!
If you can't make the trek to the States and you still want that Woodstock experience, we’ve got you covered. This is a selection of Woodstock inspired guitars and equipment as well as Woodstock commemorative gear, so you can relive the festival on your own stage, in your backyard or at home, regardless of whether the show goes ahead or not!
Here’s our top picks that are all available or can be special ordered for you!
Martin DX Woodstock 50th Anniversary Guitar
First up we have the super limited-edition Martin DX Woodstock 50th Anniversary Guitar celebrating 50 years since the first festival cemented itself as one of the greatest musical gatherings, ever.
This beautiful guitar features custom artwork by acclaimed artist Robert F. Goetzl which replicates elements of the now legendary 1969 festival poster, with a firm nod to the 50-year anniversary.
It’s not all about the looks though, as this is a performers guitar ready to hit the stages of the world. Martin have constructed the body, top and sides using responsibly sourced HPL (High Pressure Laminate) tonewoods which is far more sustainable than a lot of other options. In addition, the fretboard has been constructed using FSC Certified Richlite which is a fantastic water-resistant material that is not only environmentally friendly, but reduces water absorption so your fretboard stay drier even under the most sweaty of conditions.
Finally, Fishman Sonitone electronics have been included so you can enjoy all the lush resonance of the guitar through an amplifier and take control over your sound via the Tone and Volume knobs.
Great on your wall or on tour!

Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster, MN, Olympic White
Jimi Hendrix and his upside down Olympic White Stratocaster is synonymous with Woodstock. It’s basically what we think of when someone talks about the festival. His upside-down guitar, played that way because he was left handed, blew everyone away and became an iconic visual piece associated with the festival.
Playing an upside down Fender Stratocaster might be a little awkward for the rest of us, so the team at Fender came up with the Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster, pictured here in Olympic White. This guitar features a reverse neck as well as reverse-mounted American Vintage ’65 single-coil pickups that subtly alter the string-to-string volume balance for authentic Hendrix-style tone. The classic 70s style larger headstock has been included too!

Martin D-35 Woodstock 50th Anniversary Guitar
The Martin D-35 Woodstock 50th Anniversary Guitar is a fitting tribute to Woodstock 50. This limited-edition guitar is a re-imagined D-35 complete with special edition Woodstock 50 designs that aren’t too in your face so as not to detract from the overall quality and understated appeal of the guitar.
The re-imagined D-35 features a custom Woodstock headstock inlay as well as custom pickguard and 50th anniversary label, all of which make it an extremely special addition to the Martin family of guitars and a respectful celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary.
Again, this isn’t just about the looks either as the guitar is designed for the players out there. You have a Sitka Spruce top - a highly resonant tonewood which has also been used for the forward shifted bracing adding to the overall projection – this thing is loud!
East Indian Rosewood has been used for the back and sides which adds the warmth and resonance you need when playing chords. The Ebony fretboard is also incredibly comfortable to play and looks better over time.
