Grime is a genre of music, originating and still largely produced within the UK. First appearing in the early 2000’s around the East London area, its unique underground raw/aggressive sound/lyrics took over YouTube and became a style of music that refused to be ignored eventually becoming a household genre.

With artists such as Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Kano and Stormzy (to name but a few) bringing Grime from the home studio/pirate radio and onto the world stage, its popularity has grown exponentially.

Fast Forward 2018 and grime is now more popular and accessible than ever, it’s style being morphed and new sub genres spawned as producers around the globe take note. It’s an exciting time to be a fan/aspiring producer.

So, our resident producer and Hi-Tech and DJ specialist Gaz from PMT Newcastle has created a video on ’How to Create Grime Tracks’ using Maschine MK3 & Maschine Jam to show you how to get started with Grime. If you’re a complete beginner or just hit writers block, this is the video for you.

We have over 200 experts on-hand to offer you advice on anything and everything on PMT, so give them a call on 0151 448 2089 if you need help making a purchase with PMT or have any questions regarding delivery. Alternatively, you can contact your nearest PMT Store.
