Novation are proud to announce that it now supports Mackie’s HUI protocol built in, which means Launch Control XL now works with Cubase, Logic and Pro Tools, mapping its sliders, rotaries and buttons to their mixers' volume faders, pan pots, mute and solo buttons, and more.

LaunchControl XL now features HUI integration, which means you can use it to control the Mixer in Cubase, Logic or Pro Tools. In other words - now a lot more people can enjoy this excellent controller! With 8 faders, 24 LED knobs and 16 LED-performance buttons you can control your effects, devices, plug-ins and instruments with ease thanks to the stunning visual layout. Paired up with the popular Launchpad S, you have unprecedented Live control experience at a really great price.

This new firmware release (Downloadable from the Novation website) includes the below features:

  • Use the LCXL to control any DAW that supports HUI
  • Faders will automatically map to the mixer
  • The pots above the faders control pan and sends (selectable)
  • The top two rows of pots remain independent for MIDI learn
  • The buttons below the faders will control track select
  • The bottom row of buttons will control mutes, solos or record arm your tracks

The only (minor) issue is that due to the Pro Tools HUI implementation, the center detent of the LaunchControl XL pan pots will not directly correspond to the center position of Pro Tool’s pan pots.If you can live with that - then great, you'll find a LOT to love about LaunchControl XL!
