Taylor 612CE Grand Concert Electro Acoustic Guitar, Single CutawayWith the 612CE, Taylor have taken their maple/spruce Grand Concert guitar, and revoiced it to produce tones that are richer, warmer and more complex. This has been been achieved through a new back bracing profile, a specially rosted top - for that aged tonal character - , protein glues to optimise the tonal transfer, and an ultra-thin 3.5mm gloss finish.
Spruce / Maple construction, Short Scale Neck, and a Stage-Ready ES-2 Pickup system
The 612CE also comes with a whole host of premium appointments, a hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain to its back and sides, and - quite simply - plays like a dream.
Exquisite Tonewoods
The 612CE's Sitka Spruce and Maple tonewood combination results in a guitar with a broad dynamic range, with plenty of warmth, complexity, volume, sustain and responsiveness, making it perfectly accommodating for a versatile range of playing styles.
Sitka Spruce is one of the most commonly used tonewoods for acoustic guitar tops, and helps generate a broad dynamic range, acommodating numerous play styles, whether you want to go with all-out aggressive strumming or light-fingerpicking.
Guitars with Maple back and sides are renowned for their naturally clear, linear tonal qualities. With Taylor's very own ES2 (Expression System 2) you get a revolutionary pickup design that's been engineered to deliver the latest in Taylor's ongoing innovation in acoustic guita amplification. Complete with a patented behind-the-saddle pickup with three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors, the ES2 captures a much more dynamic range of acoustic sound than any of its predecessors.
The ES2 is complimented by Taylor's custom-designed "professional audio"-grade preamp, which produces a highly-responsive and incredible amplified tone. The combination of the ES2 with this preamp ensures that whether you're on stage and playing through a PA or amp, or even recording in the studio, your guitar signal is recreated as faithfully as possible.

These include: new-grained ivoroid Wings fretboard inlays; an inlaid abony backstrap; ebony binding with grained ivoroid purfling; an ebony/grained ivoroid rosette; striped abony pickguard; and a hand-rubbed "Brown Sugar" stain on the guitar's back and sides, which really brings out the striking figure of the Maple, giving it a violin-hued appearance.
