In 2016, Synyster Gates, along with his Avenged Sevenfold bandmate Zacky Vengeance, was named as the Best Metal Guitarist in the World by Total Guitar, so it’s no surprise that a lot of people want to know how to play like Synyster Gates.
If you’ve ever wanted to know how to get the Synyster Gates tone then look no further; the Synyster Custom from Schecter is the answer.
This model comes equipped with a dual humbucker configuration consisting of the awesome Synyster Gates Signature pickups.

Hail to The King
Being a Synyster Gates signature guitar, the Schecter Synyster Custom had to be pretty high-spec in order to meet the demanding play style.
The striking, custom body shape of the Synyster Custom has been crafted from Mahogany and features a beautiful Black Gloss finish with Silver Pin Stripes.
Set-neck construction sees the joining of a Mahogany 3pc neck which has Schecter’s famed Ultra Access gives you incredible reach of the higher frets thanks the small, slim heel with an incredible smooth finish. Carbon fibre reinforcement rods ensure an incredibly secure neck that will withstand all playing styles.
The Ebony fingerboard is brought to life by incredible Pearloid inlays displaying the Avenged Sevenfold Deathbat logo, gothic inlays and the name SYN.
Hardcore Hardware and Electronics
The combination of a Floyd Rose 1500 Series tremolo ridge and Floyd Rose 1500 Series nut keeps your strings perfectly aligned and in tune – even when performing superfast, deep and frantic tremolo action like that heard in Gates’ incendiary performances.
The horned headstock screams pure Synyster style and features Grover Rotomatic 18:1 machine heads, famous for their stability, making tuning the Synyster Custom quick, easy and precise.

Giving the Schecter Synyster Custom its incredible sound is a set of Synyster Gates signature humbucking pickups.
Absolute powerhouses, these pickups push almost 18k but retain the detail and dynamics of your performance.
Precision milled ceramic-8 magnets have been used, topped with a striking cover that has the Syn logo etched into it.
These pickups have been hand wax potted, eliminated unwanted feedback and squeal no matter how loud you play.
A three-way pickup selector switch allows you to choose which of the pickups are activated; bridge alone, neck alone or a combination of the two while the Volume and Tone (which features a push-pull feature) allow further sonic options.
