The Origin Pre-DI Stompbox Pedal is a revolutionary new device from the Bass Masters at Ashdown, continually pushing the boundaries of British-made valve and tube technology. The Origin Pre-DI is a versatile 5-band tone shaping pedal with the option of Valve Overdrive and tailored EQ at the flick of a switch.

Combining a rich history of bass amplification with modern performance features, the Origin Pre-DI Pedal is the perfect tool to take anywhere and transform your bass sound.
Powerful and portable Valve Pre-DI
Like all good pre-amp pedals, The Origin beautifully shapes the bass player’s clean signal whilst offering a foot-switchable valve powered overdrive in a single compact unit. Setting it apart from others, The Origin delivers superb quantities of both clean and overdriven bass tone, without one feature outshining the other. Crystal clear cleans and powerful overdriven growl – The Origin encompasses it all.
The ‘Drive Gain’ control lets the player dial in the precise level of gain required, whilst the ‘Drive Level’ knob allows you to decide just how much you it you want. Dependent on your playing style and attack, by tweaking the Drive Gain and Level controls in harmony, you can range from a subtle gritty valve depth that can be used regularly, to a fully responsive bass overdrive for when those moments strike. Whatever your desired output, the 12AX7 powered Valve Drive switch can be selected instantly by foot.
When it’s really time to shine, the ‘Showtime’ foot switch further sculpts your tone, lifting the frequencies that really count – like a smiley face on a graphic equalizer – just like how Ashdown’s flagship ABM range does.
