Vintage Reliability meets Modern Versatility
Whilst they may be better known for producing bass amplifiers and effects, Ashdown have also been holding their own in terms of guitar amplifiers for some time.
Unfortunately they were often released under names other than Ashdown, but that's where the new AGM lineup comes in: bringing the best features from those much-loved amps back under the Ashdown banner.
30 Watt All Valve Guitar Head
At the very core of the lunchbox-sized Ashdown AGM-484H you'll find the much-coveted tone of the legendary Hayden MoFo 30. Designed with valve-powered Preamp and Power stages, the AGM-484H is an incredible example of what's to come with the AGM series.
Classic Valve Tone
Thanks to the 4 (yes four!) ECC83 (aka 12AX7) valves in the preamp section, and 4 EL84's in the power stage, the AGM-484H produces a powerful array of tones.
With the four cascaded gain stages put to good use, these tones can range from a crisp clean, to vintage "hot-running" overdrive, through to high-gain territory and back again without the amp breaking a sweat.
As if that wasn't enough, even the Effects Loop is valve- driven, ensuring that there's no loss of signal when activating your effects.
Well-Ventilated Chassis
Unlike with many smaller-sized tube heads, you needn't worry about the Ashdown AGM-484H running too hot and potentially overheating. This is largely thanks to the amp's enclosure, which is not only made from durable steel, but is also home to built-in fans to help keep the temperature down.
Perfect for Any Sized Venue
Whether you're playing down at the local pub, serenading the audience at a big fat gypsy wedding, or wowing the crowds at an open-air festival, the Ashdown AGM-484H will serve you well.
On the back panel you'll find speaker outputs for both 8 and 16 Ohm cabinets, allowing you to power a variety of speaker sizes - and if that's not quite enough, you can always attach an Ashdown Phone box to your setup, and DI your signal directly into the PA!
