Ashdown ABM 600 RC EVO IV, 600-Watt Rackmount Bass Amp Head
For the best part of 20 years, the Ashdown ABM amp has been a firm favourite with professional gigging bassists around the world. Now that incredible ABM technology has been refined into the ABM 600 RC EVO IV, combining that much sought-after ABM preamp with a powerful 600 Watt power stage, all pulled together into a slinky little rack-mount head.
Takes you from Zero to Rock Hero
Part of the ABM charm is achieved via the Variable Valve Drive in the preamp section, which has been newly upgraded for the EVO IV. This technology pushes more current into the 12AX7 tube, giving you more drive and harmonic content than before, and allowing you to dial in sounds ranging from a pristine clean , to a nice, full bass overdrive tone. Best of all? This feature can be dialed in and then left alone, as it can be activated/deactivated via footswitch!
The Best EQ In The Business
Featuring a sophisticated 9-band EQ and that familiar Ashdown VU meter, the ABM EVO IV allows you to accurately dial in those perfect tones as and when you need them. As with the above mentioned Variable Valve Drive, the EQ on this amp can be activated/deactivated via a footswitch, which can take you from a flat, fretless sound up to your favourite EQ setting in an instant!
Easy to Use Compressor
Users of earlier ABM amps will already be familiar with the One Knob Dynamic Compressor. This simple-to-use, great-sounding compression unit helps you to deliver a powerful, even sound that's perfect for helping you fit into any mix.
How Low Can You Go?
As if those features already discussed weren't enough, the ABM RC EVO IV also features its own Sub-Harmonic generator. This handy little feature adds an octave below the notes that you play, giving you a much thicker sound that can be felt as much as heard, and is independently controllable, so you can add anything from a subtle hint of deep bass through to ground-shakingly thunderous tones.
Bags of Connections
In addition to the usual Instrument input sockets, the ABM RC EVO IV features outputs for a tuner, Line Out, transparent FX loop, and a Line Input for external sound sources. There's also the option to mute your Output signal, which doesn't affect the tuner output, allowing you to re-tune in silence!
