Traditional Blues Meets Modern Playability
With the Alvarez Blues51We TSB you get a traditional Blues-guitar body shape, constructed from a piece of Solid Sitka Spruce sitting atop a Dark Walnut body, with a Mahogany Neck, and a professional-grade set of electronics.
Every inch of this little guitar imparts a vintage vibe, from the small rectable bridge, to the V profile neck, to the Vintage Burst finish.
Inspired Tonewood Choices
Traditionally, Blues guitars are renowned for delivering a compressed "bark"-like tone, which is why Alvarez have opted to combine a Solid A+ Sitka Spruce top with Dark Walnut back and sides for this guitar.
Sitka Spruce is widely regarded as the "go to" choice for a guitar's top wood, and is renowned for it's bright, springy qualities that really help to project the guitar's voice.
Dark Walnut imparts a warm and "woody" sound, with just enough natural compression to make it ideal for traditional Blues/Folk guitar styles.
Added into the mix is a back-shifted, Scalloped X bracing stystem which adds plenty of openness and natural projection to the guitar's sound.
Thanks to the combination of this bracing system and the Tonewoods mentioned above, this guitar is ideal for fingerpickers and it also works great in the hands of a strummer/flat-picker.
LR Baggs VTC
For a guitar like this, you'd need a pickup and preamp system that compliments it perfectly - which is what the LR Baggs VTC does best.
Featuring an analog warmth that enhances your guitar's sonic character and harmonic content, an on-board dynamic EQ that smooths out problem frequencies, a separate tone control, master volume, and even a Phase Inversion switch for controlling feedback, this system is the perfect companion for the Alvarez Blues51We TSB.
12th Fret Neck Joint
Modern acoustic guitars are generally constructed with a 14th fret neck joint (where the neck meets the guitar's body), however traditional Blues and Folk guitars were often made with a 12th fret join.
This particular type of neck joint offers many benefits to the player, such as more comfortable access to the lower frets (as they're closer to your body), and even a slightly longer guitar body (which results in a fuller sound).
Due to these factors and more, a 12th Fret Neck Joint tends to be favoured by fingerstyle players and flat pickers, making it perfect for this Alvarez model.
Alvarez guitars are lovingly crafted using more than five decades of guitar-making experience. Each material is expertly curated, and each component carefully designed to bring you a guitar that continues the age-old Alvarez tradition: being amongst the very best models in that price range.
Great Value for Money
Despite the premium-grade quality of this fantastic guitar, it can be yours for an absolute steal of a price.
