What's a Grand Auditorium Style Acoustic?

Originally designed in 1994, this all-rounder guitar shape is slightly wider than a traditional Dreadnought over the lower bout, and almost as deep, but has a much narrower waist. When combined with the lower-bout cutaway, this results in a more comfortable playing experience, but with no compromise on volume levels or sound quality.

Inspirational Tonewood Choices

The Alvarez AG75WCE sees the bringing-together of a Solid A+ Western Red Cedar top, with a Dark Mahogany back and sides for a superb, well-balanced tone.

Cedar is renowned for producing a wonderful array of tones with a light touch, and offers a nice alternative to more popular top woods (such as Spruce), whereas Walnut produces a bright top end, with a rich mid-range and balanced lows. The two woods come together nicely to offer a guitar that's ideal for fingerstyle players, but is versatile enough to sound great in the hands of a flatpicker or strummer.

Please Note: the attached video showcases an Alvarez AG75CE, which features a Rosewood back and sides rather than the Walnut equivalent. Despite this, the tonality and sonic response is very similar with the AG75WCE.
