What's a Grand Auditorium Style Acoustic?
Originally designed in 1994, this all-rounder guitar shape is slightly wider than a traditional Dreadnought over the lower bout, and almost as deep, but has a much narrower waist. When combined with the lower-bout cutaway, this results in a more comfortable playing experience, but with no compromise on volume levels or sound quality.
Spruce and Mahogany Tonewoods
When pairing a solid Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, the tonal outcome is exquisite. Whilst the Spruce provides the guitar with a bright and well-projected voice, the Mahogany produces a tone that's both vibrant and rich in harmonic overtones, making the guitar suitable for a wide range of musical genres, from folk to country and beyond.
In addition to this, the Alvarez AG60CEAR also features the company's fantastic FST2 forward shifted bracing system. This bracing system allows the Spruce Top to resonate more freely than standard bracing systems would, giving you plenty more projection, and making the guitar perfect for live performances.
